Deontay Wilder has bizarrely labelled heavyweight rival Andy Ruiz Jr "a sex slave with the mind of a child".

Negotiations for a fight between former world champions Wilder and Ruiz Jr have hit a standstill of late because of a disagreement over purse splits. Ruiz Jr’s team are pushing for a 50/50 split but Wilder has scoffed at their request, offering the Mexican-American a mere 30 per cent instead.

“This is definitely not a 50/50 fight,” Wilder told 78SportsTV. “He’s talking about a rematch clause. Either he's drunk or he's on drugs, maybe both. If this deal falls through, you'll never see him again in the boxing scene, especially not on PBC. Andy Ruiz only has a fourth-grade education. This is a thing that came across my ears, they pulled him out and just wanted him to box. If it's true, shame on the parents. Using him as a boxing sex slave. 33-year-old body with a fourth-grade mind.”

Wilder wants to face Ruiz Jr before his pencilled-in fight against Anthony Joshua in December. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ said his fight talks with ‘AJ’ look promising as Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has also echoed those comments. The heavyweight showdown was supposed to take place on the same card as Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk, but that will no longer be the case as the undisputed clash recently fell through again.

Ruiz Jr hasn’t fought since winning a hard-fought decision against Luis Ortiz last September, whilst Wilder was last in action the following month as he knocked out Robert Helenius in one round. Wilder claimed he made ‘lucrative’ proposal to Ruiz Jr but that has been called into question by the former unified champion’s father.

“They want Andy to accept a ridiculous amount,” Ruiz Sr told Izquierdazo. “Andy is not just any boxer, he was the first Mexican heavyweight world champion in history. Wilder wants to offer 30 per cent. Andy and Wilder are going to fill the stadium, they are going to sell pay-per-views like crazy because everyone wants to see that fight, so it is not a fight that they are offering just enough."

Wilder and Ruiz Jr's fight was expected to produce the next challenger for the WBC belt, but it could up being for the actual title depending on current champion Tyson Fury 's next move. 'The Gypsy King' will face ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou in an exhibition fight next - according to Hearn - and fans have called for Fury to be stripped of his world title if the fight does materialise.
