A wealthy grandfather has shared his joy after welcoming his baby granddaughter, and has revealed the lavish gifts he's already bestowed upon her.

Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, who is reportedly worth a staggering £200 million, and his ex-husband Tony Drewitt-Barlow, welcomed their two-day-old grandchild Marina to the world this past weekend.

Rather than treating the little girl to a pair of booties or a rattle, Barrie has gifted baby Marina a £1 million house as well as a £5 million trust fund, meaning she's already a multi-millionaire.

In an Instagram post earlier this week, the multimillionaire businessman announced that his daughter Saffron Drewitt-Barlow, 23, had given birth on Saturday, June 24, declaring, "my girl had a girl of her very own today".

Barrie, 51, added: "Tony Drewitt-Barlow and I could not be prouder of Saffron Drewitt-Barlow and Conor Tucker for producing this little Princess for our family. Our first granddaughter and a new princess to spoil."

The delighted dad-of-eight told The Sun: "I'm so proud of both Saffron and her husband Conor. They are very well-matched. Now I have another princess to spoil and I cannot wait.

"I just bought her a new house this weekend worth £1 million and I've instructed a team of interior designers to go in and totally renovate it for her. Aspen [Saffron's brother] just bought them a £5,000 Dior pram and pushchair."

He continued: "And as this is Tony's first grandchild, he has set up a £5 million trust fund for her, so she is already a multi-millionaire."

According to Barrie, little Marina is named after Conor's late mother, who died several years ago.

Manchester-based Barrie and his ex-husband Tony have amassed their vast fortune through their various business ventures, which include a trans-Atlantic surrogacy business and a global medical research company.

This act of generosity isn't unusual for Barrie, who will splash out £4 million each year on his family Christmas. Last year, he treated his newborn son Romeo to a £2.5 million yacht, naming it after him.

Barrie was recently given a very different insight into life in Britain however, after swapping lives with a struggling mother for the Channel 5 show, Rich House Poor House, where he had to make a £57 budget stretch for an entire week.
