Rising interest rates, meaning buyers remortgaging homes will pay an average £2,900 a year extra, are why Rishi Sunak is tipped to lose the election.

Average earnings worth no more than they were in 2005 amid the longest, worst wages stagnation since the Napoleonic wars, is why millions of workers hate the Tories.

Record waiting lists in an ailing NHS knocked to its knees are why the UK Conservative Government is heading for opposition.

Sclerotic economic growth, stubbornly high inflation, crippled public services, a bad Brexit, the sense crime is out of control, soaring rents as well as increasing mortgages, net migration topping an unparalleled 600,000 plus 10,000 desperate folk crossing the Channel in small boats so far this year.

Everywhere we look, there are good reasons why Sunak and the Conservatives deserve the order of the boot.

And that’s before we consider sleaze, law-breaking, abuses of power, dishonourable behaviour and Boris Johnson.

Less popular with the British public than Phillip Schofield, Britain’s temper tantrum baby Trump will, on a 59th unhappy birthday today, be formally damned as a liar by Parliament.

Yet Johnson isn’t the only reason why the Tories deserve electoral expulsion.

Liz Truss, Theresa May and a David Cameron who’ll be grilled on cuts and austerity at the Covid inquiry played their part too. But so does Sunak, an out of touch Premier too weak to berate openly a Johnson he’ll dodge voting to censure.

Like the ineffective John Major after Margaret Thatcher, who in the run up to oblivion in 1997 was incapable of leading his party never mind the country, sinking Sunak is central to the Tory problem.

Tory cocaine snorter David Warburton quitting to trigger a fourth by-election is another vote of no confidence in the disrespected failure.

Home buyers, workers, renters, the sick and Conservative MPs are a formidable alliance against an appointed PM who secured the post with a cosy stitch-up in SW1.

Sunak likes to blame everybody else but the buck stops with the bag man who hailed Johnson a genius, until he wanted his job.

No way does a slippery Premier emerge with clean hands from the economic and political chaos created by his Conservative Party.

Sunak’s mug shot is on the wall of shame.
