BBC Breakfast viewers were in hysterics today, when Naga Munchetty kicked her co-star in an on air blunder.

Naga sat alongside Charlie Stayt for the latest instalment of the breakfast show on the BBC today, where they were chatting with barrister Victoria Butler-Cole about accessing trust funds for families with disabled children.

As the interview got underway, there was a split screen between Naga and her interviewee, which followed on from a short news segment about the issues some families were facing.

However, half way through the interview, the camera pulled back to show a wide angle of the BBC studios, and whilst Naga was facing the camera, her co-star Charlie was busy reading the morning newspapers.

As she realised they were both on screen, Naga lightly kicked her co-star to try and get his attention but he didn't flinch and the shot soon cut away to show the guest on the full screen in the meantime.

Those tuning in from home found the whole thing hilarious.

"@BBCBreakfast presenter #Charlie Stayt gets a gentle kick on the leg as a friendly reminder that he's live on camera from co-host # Naga Munchetty while he's seen reading a newspaper during an interview with an online guest as he's sat in the studio on the #BBCBreakfast sofa!" one viewer said as they took to social media to comment on the moment.

A second added: "Charlie getting booted by Naga for reading the paper #BBCBreakfast," whilst a third took to Twitter to pen: "Charlie getting a kicking this morning #BBCBreakfast #FridayVibes #Naga."

"You need to kick him harder @TVNaga01 #BBCBreakfast," a fourth quipped, as a fifth added: "Not so sneaky kick Naga."

A few weeks ago, Naga had to briefly step down from the BBC show due to illness.

"Right now, as I sit here talking to you, I am in pain, constant, nagging pain in my uterus, around my pelvis," she said, "I had a 10-day period every three weeks, passing out and being sick each time and feeling like I had been 'stabbed in the abdomen'. I felt weak but also angry. Every time I told a doctor about it I was told I was just unlucky."
