Taylor Swift and Matty Healy might never get back together after the pair's two month romance was said to have already fizzled out.
The duo shocked the world of showbiz with their unlikely pairing earlier in the year and despite never officially admitting their status, they were often spotted cosying up to each other.
However, it was a love affair which simply didn't last with reports on Monday suggesting the pair had already gone their separate ways.
And it's an outcome that those close to TayTay, 33, had expected, according to sources, with Brit Rocker Matty, 34, said to never have been her long-term knight in shining armour.
A source told ET Online : "Taylor and Matty broke up. They are both extremely busy and realised they're not really compatible with each other.
Harry Styles and Taylor Swift's awkward Grammys reunion - 10 years after split"Taylor's friends want what's best for her and aren't shocked that their relationship fizzled out since she recently got out of a long-term relationship."
Since it was first reported that Matty and Taylor were getting close, they were spotted in New York, with the frontman of The 1975 even supporting his reported belle at her big Nashville gigs in April.
Taylor ignored speculation of the split in the immediate aftermath of the reports and instead took to social media to make a different announcement.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: "I'm VERY excited to show you the back cover of Speak Now (my version) including the vault tracks and collaborations with Hayley Williams from @paramore and @falloutboy. Since Speak Now was all about my songwriting, I decided to go to the artists who I feel influenced me most powerfully as a lyricist at that time and ask them to sing on the album."
Taylor continued: "They're so cool and generous for agreeing to support my version of Speak Now. I recorded this album when I was 32 (and still growing up now) and can't wait to unveil it all to you on July 7th."
Alongside the lengthy tweet, the Bad Blood singer shared a snap of the complete track list from her new album, much to the delight of her fans.
