ONE Championship star Liam Harrison has admitted the power of Joe Rogan's kicks took him by surprise.
Harrison, 37, held pads for UFC commentator Rogan two years ago in a training clip that went viral. Many fans were shocked at the power of Rogan's kicks as the 55-year-old showed off impressive technique for his age. At one point in the clip, Harrison can be heard complimenting Rogan's power as he smashes the pads.
The muay thai legend has now confirmed that Rogan does kick extremely hard as he told Mirror Fighting about their training session: "He nearly broke my arms, I wasn't ready for it! I knew he kicked hard but I didn't think it would be that hard. Obviously he is a career-long martial artist, I think he's trained taekwondo all of his life. He trains muay thai, jiu-jitsu and just looks after himself.

Rogan took up taekwondo as a teenager and eventually racked up over 100 fights, winning the state championships in Massachusetts for four consecutive years. The UFC commentator, who also had three kickboxing fights, eventually stopped competing and turned to stand-up comedy.

Harrison added of Rogan: "He's in great shape and he's solid as well. He's built like a silverback, he's so muscly and his legs are big. He did have a lot of power and the rumours are true about him kicking very hard. To be fair, he's also in his mid fifties now so imagine what he would have been like 20 years ago when he was kicking as well? Fair play to him."

Harrison is ahead of schedule with his recovery from injury and he wants to get a fight under his belt before a potential world title clash against Jon Haggerty.
"I'm looking to be back in action September or October time," Harrison added. "That will be a good amount of time to get myself healed up and rehab properly. I'm guessing he [Haggerty] is going to have to defend his title then we can look at making it happen in England early next year."
