Gary Barlow has teased details of Take That’s performance at King Charles III’s Coronation Concert on Sunday night - which will be their first gig in four years.

The 52-year-old singer-songwriter will be joined by bandmates Mark Owen, 51, and Howard Donald, 55, to wow those attending the concert - and the millions that will tune in to watch the spectacular on TV.

Sunday night’s gig will see Gary and the boys back on stage for the first time since they wrapped up their Odyssey Tour back in September 2019 - and served as their Greatest Hits tour.

Now the boys will be belting out some of their best loved hits as they take part in the Coronation Concert - which will also see performances from American superstars Lionel Richie and Katy Perry.

Gary told The Sun on Sunday: “We were really honored to be asked to take part, it’s a huge moment in our country’s history.

“This will be the first show we’ve done as Take That since our Odyssey Tour, four years ago in 2019 and what a stage to come back on.”

He did, however, refuse to mention what songs will be performed - or If any new material will be trialled for royal approval.

He said: “We’re keeping a lot of it under wraps, but we have a huge live band, orchestra and choir, plus the backdrop of the beautiful Windsor Castle - we can’t wait.”

Take That are expected to release a new album later this year - and will also headline the BST Hyde Park concert on 1 July.

The new album will be the band’s first in five years.

Mark explained in an interview last year: “We’ve kind of started [writing the album] already,.

“We’ve learnt to work remotely because we live in different parts of the world. So I’ll send off a chorus and say, ‘Let me know what you think, lads’, then it will be back a few days later and it’s had a little more written on it.”

He also teased that a new single will be released “just before the summer” and that the album would follow “around October”.

Meanwhile, Take That might find they don’t have much room to prepare for the Coronation Concert this weekend - as Katy Perry has taken over five dressing rooms at the venue.

The 38-year-old US superstar – who is engaged to British actor Orlando Bloom, 46, and has taken a week off her Vegas residency to appear at the glitzy event – is expected to have more than 50 aides on site at Windsor Castle.

They include management reps, hair and makeup artists and stylists, costume designers, her sound engineering team, her lighting specialists and her dance team.

The entourage, travelling in 10 Mercedes people carriers, is being allocated five dressing rooms – and sources reveal that Katy’s backstage rider includes luxury sofas, fresh flowers and a refrigerator with a glass door.

One told The Mirror: “Katy has easily the biggest entourage of any on the bill.

“But she has a trusted team who she always works with and relies upon. They know exactly how she likes things done… and will make sure they’re done to the letter.

“When it comes to her backstage rider, she isn’t over the top, but there are a few things she always asks for. They make her feel relaxed.”
