Two women in Halloween clown masks break into mum's home and douse her in bleach

Two women wearing Halloween clown masks broke into a mum's house and then threw bleach at her in a terrifying attack.

Kathryn Llewellyn, 43, and friend Teresa Morgan-Peters, 45, used the "trick or treat" clown masks on Halloween as cover for the vicious assault.

Prosecutor Robin Rouch told Swansea Crown Court the nightmare on Halloween began when the victim was woken by a series of three silent phone calls at 1am - then heard scary laughing noises.

Mr Rouch said: "They started laughing like clowns cackling."

The two women then barged into her home after midnight on October 31, the court heard.

The victim said: "I thought it must be one of my mates clowning around with Halloween. I saw two figures coming down the hallway in clown masks.

"One started coming at me with a Stanley knife. Then the other one came at me and I had bleach thrown at me. They didn't say nothing. One had me down to bleach me."

The victim pulled one of the attackers' masks off but was unable to make out who it was in the darkness - only that it was a white woman.

She then fled to a friend's home with wounds and doused in bleach.

She said: "My adrenaline was going. I didn't know it was bleach at the time. I couldn't smell it, I couldn't taste it, I couldn't feel it. I only knew about it when I went to my neighbour's and my black pyjama top was orange.

"She was going to kill me. They wanted me dead. They knew exactly what they were doing. It was planned; it was vicious; it was coordinated."

The victim suffered knife injuries to her face, neck, arm, back, and thigh at her home in Ystradgynlais, near Swansea.

The court heard how Llewellyn had posted explicit "nonsense" about the victim on Facebook - and Llewellyn's partner had been asked to stop by a member of her family.

But the court heard he replied: "Watch your f***ing back. Don't f*** with me."

The attack by the two clown-masked attackers happened just days after the social media row.

Nicola Powell, representing Morgan-Peters, asked the complainant if she had ever had any issues with her client.

She said: "Never. This is what shocked me. She was lovely. It's a shame as I really thought a lot of her."

A court heard DNA from the women was found on a mask and bottles used in the attack.

Llewellyn, of Godrergraig, and Morgan-Peters, of Ystradgynlais, were found guilty of burglary, wounding with intent, and having an article with a blade or point.

Judge Geraint Walters will sentenced the pair at Swansea Crown Court on June 19.
