There's good news for anyone who has recently splashed out on a new television from Samsung. The world's most popular telly brand has just announced a major boost to some of its goggleboxes that brings a swathe of games to the screen without having to buy expensive consoles such as the Xbox One or PlayStation 5. The update is all thanks to the launch of Amazon's new Luna+ gaming service which streams top titles across the web.

Along with an expansive catalogue of things to play, Amazon is promising that its games will be refreshed on a monthly basis so fans should never get bored of what's on offer. For example, this month's offerings include akuza Kiwami 2, Horizon Chase Turbo, The Jackbox Games Party Pack 3 and The Adventure Pals.

When Amazon announced the UK release of Luna+, it was only available via smartphones, laptops and Fire TV Sticks but now Samsung owners will be able to give it a go without needing any extra equipment.

To make things feel more like a console, gamers can also invest in a dedicated Luna controller which has been created especially for the online platform.

The only thing to be aware of is that the update - which is part of Samsung's Gaming Hub app - is currently only being released to the latest 2023 TV models although hopefully, that might change in the future.

Speaking about the update Dan Hastings, Director TV/AV at Samsung Electronics, said: ‘We’re very excited for Amazon Luna to be joining the Samsung Gaming Hub, offering TV viewers and players more choice than ever before to play both the games they already love and discover new ones.

"Samsung Gaming Hub is a one-stop shop for all gamers needs and with Amazon Luna, we’re delighted to offer gamers nearly one thousand games to play instantaneously on Samsung Smart TVs."

Although the update to the telly is free, Luna+ does cost money. You'll get 7 days free but then things cost Luna+ £8.99 per month.

If that news has got you pondering an upgrade there is another reason to switch your TV to something new.

Samsung is currently offering up to £700 off its latest 2023 tellies and some even come with a Galaxy S23 for just £100 more. That means you'll save a whopping £799 off the price of this flagship phone.
