Noel Gallagher could not resist a dig at Manchester United as he talked up Manchester City's Treble chances after the demolition of Bayern Munich.

City have one foot in the Champions League semi-finals after dispatching Bayern 3-0 with a devastating attacking display at the Etihad Stadium.

Thomas Tuchel's Bayern were outclassed by a rampant City team - with goals from Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland completing a magical European night for the Premier League champions.

It remains plausible that City could oust Arsenal to the league title as well as winning both the Champions League and FA Cup to replicate United's Treble heroics of 1999.

Pep Guardiola's men are fighting strongly on all three fronts and are potentially 15 perfect matches away from creating history.

And Oasis legend Gallagher joked that his team will meet Brighton in the FA Cup final if they get an expected win over Sheffield United - dismissing United's chances altogether in the other semi-final against the Seasiders at Wembley.

"Oh you better believe it," he told talkSPORT when asked if the Treble was on.

"Because we've got Sheffield United in the FA Cup semi-final, probably Brighton in the final – if we get there. Then hopefully Chelsea will somehow manage to jam it against Real Madrid and then we'll annihilate them."

Gallagher, an avid City fan, believes his club's bid to claim all the major honours this season has gone under the radar and is relishing the closing stages of the season.

"But in all seriousness though, these are the moments you live for," he added. "We've got 15 or 16 games left, all finals. This could be it. It's real.

"Nobody spoke about it for the last four months and now all of a sudden, you're thinking 'hang on a minute' they're still in for this treble here. And after watching that tonight, I wouldn't bet against it."
