After soaking up knowledge for 109 years, Marjorie Hodnett reckons her being a hit on The Chase is beyond question.
The quiz fan, who celebrated her birthday on Saturday, said: “I watch a lot of TV. I have no idea why people watch football, there is so much you can learn. Educational programmes and quizzes are my favourite.
“I like The Chase, I get a lot of answers right. I think I’d do quite well.
"I still have a big thirst for knowledge which I inherited from my father as well as a long life.”
Marjorie said her goal for reaching 109 was to get a birthday card from King Charles, as she already has four from his late mother.

The trivia-expert 'Chasers' from ITV show (ITV/REX/Shutterstock)And the former teacher, born in Harlesden, North West London, and now living in Formby, Merseyside, has rules for living a long and happy life.
She said: “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can. They are five good rules to live by but I don’t think I’ve stuck to them entirely.”
Some of Marjorie’s earliest memories are of air raids during WW1 and she met her first husband Stanley in 1939 who passed away in 1955.
She then married Hugh in 1956 and the couple moved to Sidbury in Devon where she was the teacher of a school reception class for 23 years.
