Busted fans in meltdown as they tease reunion for 20th anniversary

Busted have teased that a reunion could be in the works, with the band having hinted this week that there will be upcoming celebrations for their 20th anniversary.

The band - consisting of Matt Willis, 39, Charlie Simpson, 37, and James Bourne, 39 - have teased a comeback, with an announcement due on Thursday (March 23).

They shared a video on social media which hints at celebrations to mark their 20th anniversary, with them having released their debut single and album back in 2002.

The footage shows a VHS cassette tape being inserted into a retro TV unit. There's briefly some static before the band's logo appears on the screen as the video comes to a close.

One person reacted: "Omg ... they're back". Another said: "It's happening!" Whilst a third wrote: "This makes me happy to the core." Another said: "This is not a drill".

"Omg will there be a reunion?" asked one person. Others speculated over the possibility of a tour and even a new album, though the band have yet to announce such plans.

"Omg there is something happening," said one fan. Another commented: "Hopefully a new album or tour, or both". Whilst one wrote: "[I'm] trying not to freak out".

Charlie recently teased the possibility of a reunion following his appearance on the Masked Singer earlier this year - after he won the latest series of the ITV show.

He was asked about a potential new album and tour whilst on Capital Breakfast last month. He responded: "It might be coming. If it was coming I'd be sworn to secrecy."

Busted formed more than two decades ago and released their debut single - What I Go to School For - in 2002. Their self-titled debut album was released later that year.

The band went on to have several chart-topping singles before disbanding in 2004. They reunited for new music in 2016 and later had another comeback in 2019.
