Scream Queen Jenna Ortega has reportedly 'lined up' to reunite with Tim Burton for the Beetlejuice sequel.

The actress, who stars in Tim's Netflix series Wednesday, is understood to have nabbed the role of the daughter of Lydia Deetz (played by Winona Ryder in the original).

Beetlejuice became a hit when it was released in 1988 and stars Michael Keaton as the titular character.

It is not yet known whether Alex Baldwin, Geena Davis, Catherine O'Hara and Jeffrey Jones will return for the sequel.

According to reports, Warner Bros. are hoping to start production in London in May or June this year.

The original Beetlejuice had a $15 million budget and grossed $80 million at the box office. It even won the best makeup Oscar at the 1989 Academy Awards.

Beetlejuice follows the recently deceased married couple Adam (played by Alec) and Barbara (Geena) as discover that a new family moved into their house.

Using the Handbook for the Recently Deceased, they summon the spirit known as Beetlejuice to scare the family off the property.

Last year, Nightmare Before Christmas director Tim revealed 'nothing is out of the question' when it comes to the production of Beetlejuice 2.

He told Deadline during an interview: "I only know if I’m making a film when I’m actually on the set shooting."

Tim added: "I try to go back to the root of everything. It springs from a seed and then it grows, rather than out of these statements.

"I am working on ideas and things but it’s all very early days. We’ll set how it goes. How’s that for a none answer?"
