An influencer has been branded "entitled" for publicly shaming an Uber Eats driver as "disgusting" simply because they needed to take a quick bathroom break before making her delivery. Social media star and entrepreneur Ariana Fletcher shared a screenshot of what she says was her conversation with a delivery driver via the Uber Eats app on Twitter.

The driver says that they will be "one moment" as they are 'just using the restroom' before completing the order. The 27-year-old from Chicago, Illinois, US, instead asks the driver to bring her food to the door beforehand, as her 'concierge is waiting'. Undeterred, the Uber Eats driver replies by saying that they will get their husband to make the delivery instead, presumably as they needed the bathroom.

Ariana shared screenshots of the messages on her Twitter account, accompanied by a scathing caption that branded the behaviour "f*cking gross".

Ariana tweeted: "This is f**king disgusting and unprofessional as f**k! @UberEats I cancelled my order so fast, I'm never using Uber Eats another day in my life. Y'all workers doing sh*t like this F**KING GROSS!"

However, not everyone agreed with her and many were quick to leap to the worker's defence, pointing out that it was a basic right to use the bathroom while at work.

Ariana first rose to fame in 2015 as an Instagram model, before starting her own successful beauty business and YouTube channel.

The social media star's 2.3 million twitter followers were quick to like, share and comment on the angry tweet.

Ariana's post racked up more than 8,500, likes, retweets and quote tweets and almost 11million views as users were happy to weigh in with their opinion - with some saying she was just being 'nasty'.

When one Twitter user told Uber she would cancel her account if they fired the worker based upon Ariana's rant, the outspoken influencer replied 'who gives a f*ck'.

One user said: "We're in the middle of an inflation, people are trying to survive… @AriTheDon is a nasty person and @UberEats should just dismiss this case. Nasty woman."

A second tweeted: "You don't have to go to the bathroom ever while you work? You'd be cool with people sharing your licence plate and name with your employer and all of social media because of that? Why would you treat a worker like this? What is wrong with you?"

A third added: "You all must've forgotten that people are human and have to use the restroom too. You don't know if she simply went in there to wash her hands. Her husband wouldn't have been able to bring you the food if it was in the restroom with her."

Another said: "I'm confused. Will they be physically holding the food in their hands? Because is it not going to be in a bag? Exposing someone for having a bathroom break is wickedness."

A fifth added: "The food we order through all of these apps and at the restaurant is passed through so many hands before we get the opportunity to touch it ourselves.

"People use the bathroom at work; some wash their hands and some don't, but honestly we'll never know. Best to eat at home if worried.

"Another said: "Girl grow up. So people [are] not allowed to use the restroom 'cause they work for Uber eats? She got her husband to do it what's the problem ? Y'all are too entitled.

"However, some Twitter users agreed with the tweet and claimed to be 'sick of Uber'.

One said: "I'm sick of Uber too. Drivers accepting my order and then just chilling for 20 minutes in a random car park, or clearly double-apping and going the opposite way to my house."

A second said: "This made me realise how disgusting Uber Eats is… you don't know what that person is doing to your food or the environment it's in while it's in their care… but [I'm still going to] order from there though!"

Uber Support replied to the tweet shortly after it was posted, assuring Ariana that they were "sorry" and 'understand the concern', adding that they will be reaching out in-app.

Uber and Ariana have been contacted for a comment.
