Angry mothers and wives of Russian soldiers on the frontline claim the men are suffering from "fleas and scabies" and have begged Vladimir Putin to allow them home on leave.

In a video appeal, the women claim that draftees have not had a break since they were sent to Ukraine four months ago.

They also say they've been put in the firing line without the correct training and have not been provided with proper medical support or ways to maintain personal hygiene.

Critics say Putin’s army uses such conscripts as cannon fodder with no concern over the scale of his human losses.

“All our men swore allegiance to their homeland, and they have been fulfilling their duty for four months with honour and courage,” say the women in a video appeal to Putin, the Russian commander-in-chief, over men in mobilised regiments 143 and 394.

“Our appeal to you is because…they have not received proper training…and they were sent to the firing line in early October.

“They have had no replacements allowing them to get rest. There is no way to maintain personal hygiene, so the soldiers now have fleas and scabies.”

The women make clear their appeals to their governor in Primorsky region and to the army have been blanked.

Some men are suffering from “chronic diseases” because “proper medical care is not provided.”

Putin is told: “There is no humanitarian aid, including special equipment, and their uniforms are in tatters…

“We ask you to pay attention to the servicemen of these regiments so they are replaced and can go on home leave for rest.”

The women begged Putin: "We ask that the rights of servicemen at the firing line in the special military operation zone be respected.

“We kindly ask you not to leave our appeal without due attention.”

Meanwhile, dramatic new footage shows the moment Russian soldiers appear to be completely wiped out by a Ukrainian weapon.

The video taken from the frontline shows troops from Vladimir Putin's army trudging through a ravaged pock-marked field seconds before they are ambushed by the surprise weapon.

A large explosion is seen to hit the group of soldiers, leaving several reportedly dead and more injured.

This is followed by a second blast, which hits the Russians while they attempt to treat already fallen comrades.

Soldiers are then seen fleeing the field before they are taken out by a third explosion.
