Peter Andre says NHS under 'extreme stress' as he gives support for strikes

Peter Andre has spoken out about the "unbelievable stress" the NHS is under as he pledges his support for the sector striking.

Nurses went on strike last week while ambulance workers will follow suit in February and March over unfair pay and unsafe staffing claims.

Dad of four Pete, 49, whose wife Emily is a doctor, 33, has praised the sector for its 'incredible service', saying we should consider ourselves lucky for having access to such 'stellar healthcare'.

"The stress the NHS is under at the moment is unbelievable at the moment," he said.

"In my opinion, we're one of the luckiest countries in the world with our healthcare system and if anyone should be paid fairly for their services then it's the people who are on the front line."
