Piers Morgan has hit out at Alec Baldwin after the actor was charged with involuntary manslaughter.
Cinematographer and mother-of-one Hutchins was killed on the set of Rust in October 2021 when Alec discharged a prop gun, which also injured the film's director Joel Souza.
Despite being airlifted to hospital, the 42-year-old died of her injuries.
Now, over a year after the tragic incident, Alec and the film’s armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed will each be charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter over the death of Halyna on the film’s Santa Fe County set - a charge that carries a maximum of 18 months in prison.
And it's a decision that has been welcomed by former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan.

Halyna Hutchins died in the incident on the set of Rust (Halyna Hutchins/Instagram)Talking on her current show, Piers Morgan Uncensored, he discussed the incident and the day's charge news.
After explaining Alec's role in the incident, Piers said he has since been "the epitome of Hollywood arrogance," saying he had been trying to make people think "he was as much as a victim as the woman he killed".
He went on to share a clip of Alec speaking to ABC News saying he didn't feel guilt and knew he wasn't responsible for Halyna's death.
Piers criticised Alec's actions following the incident (TalkTV)In response, Piers said: "No guilt at all. Even though he was literally holding the gun that fired the bullet that killed this woman. Not a shred of personal responsibility, accountability or guilt."
The presenter then criticised Alec for thanking his fans for their support, slamming his actions as being like he had just won an Oscar.
"This is real life, not a film," Piers fumed. "A young woman was killed."
Alec previously said he "didn't pull the trigger" of the gun that fatally wounded Halyna (ABC)He finished his speech by saying: "Alec Baldwin has done a lot of talking - a lot of self protective talking. A lot of spinning. A lot of denial of any accountability or responsibility. Well, his next words on this matter will be in a court of law."
Following the news of the charge, Alec Baldwin's lawyer, Luke Nikas released a statement saying: "This decision distorts Halyna Hutchins' tragic death and represents a terrible miscarriage of justice... Mr. Baldwin had no reason to believe there was a live bullet in the gun or anywhere on the movie set."
He defiantly added that they will fight the charges, concluding the message by saying: "We will win."
