Sarah Michelle Gellar has opened up about her "strict" parenting rules including how she has banned her 13-year-old daughter from having a career as a child actor.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star revealed that she has rules in place with her children’s Charlotte, 13, Rocky, 10, professions including that Charlotte cannot be on camera until she is 18 and has moved out.
The 45-year-old told The Hollywood Reporter that it “scares the s**** out of me” to think of her daughter acting at this age, she explained: “Well, we have rules in place. She can't be in front of a camera until she graduates high school.”

However, Scooby Doo star stressed it’s different for her daughter as both Sarah and her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr are already acclaimed actors.

Sarah continued: “She says to me, ‘That’s unfair. You were a child actor.’ Yes, I was. But I was not the child of two famous parents.”

Sarah said it's different for her children as both their parents are actors (Sarah Michelle Gellar/Instagram)Even though Charlotte won’t be popping up on TV anytime soon, Sarah added that she will support her daughter if she chooses that career later in her life.
“I'll never stop her from being on a set,” Sarah said, “But she’s just not going on camera while she’s living under our roof. There’ll be different expectations for her, so she needs to learn everything there is first.”
Sarah also doesn’t allow her young children to use social media and admitted that it is an “ever-evolving conversation” about what to present online.

That's not his world. It's definitely something my daughter and I discuss. It's an ever-evolving conversation.”
“Obviously, there will be a time when I can't say no anymore because I'll be keeping her away from the way her generation communicates.
“But I also need to wait until she gets to a point where she understands the permanence of what you put out there.”
