Strictly Come Dancing star Layton Williams has revealed his secret health battle, which he has to 'push through' while performing.
The 29-year-old actor - who reached the final of Strictly Come Dancing in 2023 with Nikita Kuzmin - has admitted that his condition has caused him to almost pass out on stage.
He also 'fell flat on his face' in an accident on Wednesday. Layton, who stars in the BBC Three sitcom Bad Education, said he sometimes has to grab something to hold onto when he feels unwell while performing. "I was clinging on to the structure of the set because I was about to pass out," he confessed earlier this week.
He added that 'no-one cares' when it happens, and says he 'just pushes through' for himself. Explaining his attitude on the Homo Sapiens podcast, Layton said that when he's tried to combat stress or illness in the past, he's felt no-one's eyes were on him. Layton added that on occasion he covers up on-stage mistakes by improvising. "I'll do something a little bit extra to combat it - just so you know: 'I'm aware and here's a little treat'," he confessed.
The star confessed that he's had to 'paraphrase words' in his performances in the past to avoid embarrassment when his voice started to crack. Layton, who is known for being accident-prone, shared details of his latest mishap on X.
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likeness"I just fell flat on my face in my bedroom lol," he wrote. "It's my own fault I was dancing to Raye then tripped over my bed lol. Anyways, I'm safe and sound."
One worried fan replied: "Were you having a boogie? If so happens to the best of us my sweet. Silliness aside I hope you're ok though." Another asked: "Oh babe, I hope you are okay? ? I'm looking forward to seeing you on Big Brother tonight looking your gorgeous self." And a third said: "Ouch! that must have hurt! be careful angel."
On Wednesday, during Big Brother: Late and Live, host Will Best asked Layton about Ekin-Su Culculoglu showing interest in Nikita - who is already in a relationship. "That was really awkward to see," he said. "Just because someone's got a partner, it doesn't mean that they're necessarily interested in you anyway. I don't really like that kind of angle. No shade... full shade. But then to go into the bedroom where he's changing and to give him compliments, I'm just like, 'Read the room'."
