Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has lived a tumultuous life over the years - and so have her sons.
The ITV panelist, who turns 59 today, is a regular on our screens and doesn't shy away from talking about her family away from the cameras - including their health scares, romances and the reality of being a mum-of-three.
Coleen shares two sons with her ex-husband EastEnders actor Shane Richie - Shane Jr, 35, and Jake, 31. She also has a daughter called Ciara, 22, with former partner Ray Fensome. She is currently in a relationship with Michael Jones, whom she met on Tinder.
In December last year, her eldest son Shane was accused of cheating on his wife, Miss Great Britain star Maddie Wahdan. At the time, fans pointed out it was a case of 'history repeating itself' as Shane's dad had an affair while with Coleen.
Shane and Maddie wed in an intimate ceremony in June 2022 but split after the claims surfaced. Coleen previously opened up to The Mirror about her devastation. "I love them both and I always will. It's always extremely sad when something doesn't work out – it's always sad for both parties," she said.
'So fed up of tiresome pal flirting with my husband and always putting me down'"Obviously Shane's my son – I adore him. And I still adore Maddie. I can sit and talk to Maddie for hours, I've been there and done it. But she's doing great. I mean, she's Miss GB, she's beautiful and she's a great person, and she's got nothing to worry about. She'll fly."
Shane isn't the only child of Coleen to have made headlines in recent years - former Emmerdale star Jake Roche revealed in 2022 that he was living off Universal Credit in his famous mum's garage. He harshly dubbed himself a 'failure' after his entertainment career was put on hold amid the cost of living crisis.
The actor previously appeared on the ITV soap in 2010, where he played Hannah Barton's friend Isaac Nuttal. Jake also enjoyed a successful pop career and was the lead vocalist of band Rixton, who charted at Number 1 with their hit, Me and My Broken Heart. He was previously engaged to Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson.
In October 2022, Jake shared his thoughts about his career on TikTok after one user asked him what he was up to these days. He said: "I'm on Universal Credit, and I live with my mum in her garage. I'm a failure." But the TikTok user was quick to comfort Jake and insist he was far from a failure and was going through 'hardships'. To which Jake said: "Thank you, you are a legend."
Later that month, he returned to Instagram to promote his new tour with band Push Baby and revealed they were playing at London's O2 Academy. He wrote: "London get em quick time." Jake joined Rixton in 2013 then in 2015, they embarked on a four-year hiatus. When they returned in 2019, they rebranded as Push Baby.
They initially signed to Republic Records and released their first song, Mama's House, in April that year. Bandmates Danny Wilkin and Lewi Morgan later left the band, leaving only Jake and Charley Bagnall. Jake has since become a solo artist and talks about what it's like on his social media.
In January, Coleen said she was heartbroken after her daughter had fled the nest to go travelling. She explained on Loose Women that Ciara had been planning the trip for two years with her boyfriend and booked a one-way ticket out of the UK. She said: "They've worked really hard and saved up and I'm so proud of them both and her, but honestly, I just can't stop crying."
She continued: "But I'm trying not to do it in front of her because I'm thrilled and I'm proud because what an amazing thing to do. But it's like losing my best friend." Ciara moved out of the family home last October but helped Coleen do a lot of cooking and cleaning. Coleen added: "She is the mother of the house. My son text me the other day and went, 'This is going to do you good mum because you need to grow up'."
