Locals in Birmingham have been left scratching their heads over a row of houses that don't have any front doors.
These student homes on Aston Brook Street East, Aston, have got everyone talking online, with people wondering - among other things - how the postie delivers their letters. A black and white photo from 1967 shows that these Victorian houses did once have front doors, but they've been replaced by big bay windows. Now, it seems that people have to go through their back gardens to get into their homes.
Pictures of these odd houses were shared on the Facebook group Birmingham History Past and Present. One person said: "Quite bizarre not having front door entrances," while another wondered: "Could you imagine how you'd get deliveries? The mind wanders." Someone else agreed, saying it must be "Confusing for parcel deliveries."
Another person explained: "It's all accessed from entrances which takes you into their own community land at the back of these rows of Victorian terraces and then you enter your house at the back door. These houses are completely surrounded by industrial units, so you wouldn't even notice they're there."
One person said you can see the houses from the 67 bus when you're near pump island, reports Birmingham Live. They said: "They're on the left hand side of Aston Road North." Some people thought the houses looked "ace" and "different" compared to other homes in the city. One person even said it would be "Be fun to live there."
