Brits can smooth out wrinkles on clothes without needing an iron with this easy to make concoction.

Wrinkled clothes and creases can become a problem when clothes have been stored for a while or if they have been put into storage wrong after doing laundry. Ironing can also be a hassle - particularly if you are running late - but luckily, there is an effective way to get that just-pressed look without having to haul out the ironing board.

Fantastic Service's domestic cleaning expert and supervisor, Petya Holevich, says you can "smooth out wrinkles" in clothes easily using wrinkle release sprays. These sprays help soften the fibres in the fabric and as a result, allow the wrinkles in your clothes to straighten out quickly.

Wrinkle-release sprays can be bought from most local supermarkets or online but if you don't have one in your home in a time of need, you can also make one yourself and it doesn't require many ingredients at all.

Petya said: "Wrinkle-release sprays are a convenient solution if you need quick touch-ups or when you don't have access to an iron or steamer. You can also make your own wrinkle-removing spray by mixing one part distilled white vinegar and two parts water. Alternatively, you can also add a small amount of fabric softener to water in a spray bottle. Keep in mind that this method works best for cotton clothes because they’re less likely to show water spots."

The use of these sprays is a straightforward method. You have to simply hang your clothes in an upright position so that the effect of gravity works the best on them. Then you have to lightly spray your wrinkle releaser on the targeted areas to straighten it out. Petya also says you should shake the fabric or smooth it out with your hand to get the best result.

Before using the above method, you should check your clothes care labels as some fabrics may need to be treated using specific techniques and products. Alongside this, proper storage techniques, such as hanging clothes or folding them neatly, will also minimise the appearance of wrinkles in the first place. Petya added: "If you're using a wrinkle-release spray, choose one with a pleasant scent to also freshen up your clothes."

If you are looking to try a wrinkle release spray, Lenor Crease Releaser currently costs £3 from Asda and Lakeland Crease Release Spray will set you back £4.99.
