New white socks never look the same once you have worn them several times, and they can easily look grimy and stained in a matter of weeks.

While a quick wash is usually enough to get your socks ready to wear again, it often does not suffice when comes to white socks, as they can become stained and discoloured. Plus, as bills continue to rise in the UK, the last thing you want to do is spend a fortune on washing them over and over again or purchasing expensive cleaning products.

Thankfully one laundry hack lover has come up with a simple tip which won't break your bank account. Annie regularly shares her top-speed cleaning tips and cheap deals via her TikTok page @annieblackmurx, and her white sock tip video has raked in over one million views.

Annie said to make sure you use gloves while trying her hack. The mum and wife said: "How to bring your white socks back to life - use a bucket and pour boiling water over the socks to submerge them all. Add one Milton tablet - let it fizz and mix up."

Next, she adds two capfuls of oxi white cleaner. "I use Tesco's own brand," she said. Once added you will see this makes the solution fizz. A tub of Tesco Oxi power whites 1kg is priced at £2.95, and Milton sterilising tablets are priced at £3.10 from the same supermarket.

Next, she adds some Ace laundry bleach - said to 'revive the whiteness' of any clothing item. A bottle of Ace Ultra for whites is priced at £3. She pours 225ml of the product into the bucket. She mixes all the products together well, moving the socks repeatedly around in the bucket.

The cleaning hack lover then lets the socks soak for one hour. To finish, she puts the socks in the washing machine on a hot wash and once the cycle has finished she pulls out her socks which now look dazzling and like new. The mum says she swears by the "amazing" trick to get stains out of her son's and husband's white socks.

Responding to Annie's TikTok, one individual said: "Oh my god, I'm shocked - have to try this." "Will definitely be trying this," added another." "Trying this," one other added.
