Countryfile fans wondered if one of the hosts of the show was off to a hen do when she gave a weather update on Sunday.
Sarah Keith-Lucas, 42, was presenting the seasonal slot on the BBC show when she rocked up on screen sporting a red frilly blouse and pair of dark denim jeans. The meteorologist told fans what to expect weather-wise for the week ahead with her usual poise. However, some viewers thought she was off to a "barn dance" as they took to X to share their views.
One said: "Sarah off to a barn dance afterwards #countryfile." Another wrote: "Straight from line dancing club" while someone else mused: "I’m afraid this ensemble is more hen night than #countryfile forecast." Elsewhere, a fourth viewer seemed somewhat overcome by the ensemble as they asked: "Why does the female weather forecaster have to dress like an extra from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers?"
However, Sarah's choice of outfit wasn't a total wash-out as one fan replied to the thread, saying: "Ah, the lovely Sarah Keith-Lucas Nice top with rolled up sleeves and jeans combo. Not checked but hey ho. 8/10 #countryfile #casualweatherperson."
Sarah started presenting for BBC Weather in 2008 and often hosts the five-day weather forecast on Countryfile. She also occasionally presents weather-based documentaries on the BBC News and BBC World News channels, which she co-hosts with Nick Miller.
Last year, Sarah was praised by viewers when she stood in for Carol Kirkwood on BBC Breakfast. One fan wrote on Twitter, now X: “I wish Sarah Keith Lucas was Weather presenter on Breakfast permanently!” While another addressed the presenter and praised her morning slot: "Wow babe!"
And back in 2022, she was lauded on the show again, this time for battling a hacking cough live on air. Sarah was hailed a "true professional" as she made her way through the Sunday edition of the programme, where she discussed the country's ongoing heatwave.
The meteorologist appeared uncomfortable with a strained-sounding voice, before she apologised to viewers and said she had a cough. Sarah said : "Excuse me" as she cleared her throat. Attempting to keep it together while discussing the high temperatures, Sarah added: "Very sorry for my cough!"
Her colleagues and BBC presenters Nina Warhurst and Roger Johnson praised Sarah after the segment came to a close. Roger said: "Hopefully, somebody is standing by with a glass of water for you, Sarah." Sarah then replied: "That's exactly what I'm going to do!"
"Well done," Roger said, going on: "You battled on brilliantly, well done - thank you." Nina added: "She came through it, well done, Sarah! That is a true professional, she didn't cough all throughout but she was dying to."
