Olly Murs and his pregnant wife Amelia Murs have been praised for having a Greggs-themed food truck at her baby shower and the masterful puns on display were truly something else.
The singer, 39, teamed up with the bakery chain for the special occasion recently ahead of welcoming his first child with fitness model Amelia, 31, later this year. He's since shared photos from the baby shower on Instagram.
The event included a 'Preggs' themed van in the brand's signature blue and orange colours. It was accompanied by decorative boxes that featured phrases such as 'what's in your oven?' and signs congratulating the couple. Whilst napkins at the event read: "Preggs - the Murs the merrier'.
Food from the truck was served in personalised paper bags, which read: "Preggs - Satisfying your pastry cravings." There were also references to song of the former the Voice judge Olly's songs on the paper bags at the gathering.
A note on the bag gave a nod to his song Heart Skips a Beat, which was released in 2011. It read: "Caution: Your heart will skip, skip, skip a beat". Whilst another referenced his song Troublemaker, which came out in 2011. At the bottom of the bag, a message read: "Olly & Ameila, congrats on your troublebaker."
Greggs, Costa & Pret coffees have 'huge differences in caffeine', says reportOlly shared content with fans alongside the caption: "When Greggs do Baby Showers." The post included a clip of him dressed up in a sausage roll costume, with Amelia cuddling him. He also showed off the paper bags and other decorations.
The post prompted praise from some of his followers, with one person writing: "You two know how to cater a party." As stated by OK! magazine, another called it "the best thing I've ever seen" and someone said it was "iconic".
In the comments section of the post, Olly also addressed apparent questions from his followers about his typical order from Greggs. He told them: "For everyone asking - Sausage Bean Cheese Melt is my fave! ALL.DAY.EVERYDAY".
The outlet notes that Olly is previously understood to have served up McDonald's at his wedding last year. A truck serving the likes of McNuggets is said to have featured at the special occasion, which was referred to as 'Murs Fest'.
Olly met Amelia at a gym. They got engaged while on a family holiday in Cornwall in 2022. The couple tied the knot in July last year, with a three-day event in Essex. They surprised their followers with some happy news in December last year, announcing that they are expecting their first child this year, saying: "Baby Murs due 2024."
