Creepy dolls appeared to watch an unexpected visitor's every move as he wandered through a house he found abandoned deep in the woods.
The urban explorer called Dave, also known as Freaktography, travelled into the deserted woodland to visit the property and reported his findings - which included stuffed animals on every floor, with many of them ripped to shreds.
Peeling paint and vegetation growth outside the home suggested it had been abandoned for several years. Dave estimated many of the toys came from the 1990s, but others suggested they were also “vintage 1980s”.
Dave said: “This abandoned house is probably one of the strangest and most remote locations for a random house I’ve ever seen! The path was extremely hilly with several large fallen trees blocking the way and years of overgrowth.
"Once I finally reached the house, I was entirely surrounded by a vast farmer’s field and the house was surrounded by tall maturing trees roughly 2 inches in diameter. Inside, the house was tossed, badly decayed and well-worn from decades of weather. It seemed in every room I entered that I was being watched by the eyes of creepy dolls and stuffed animals.”
Spooky abandoned house in woods left full of creepy dolls and forgotten denturesIn the clip, Dave is shown trekking to the house across empty fields and a single-track road. After entering, he is greeted by a staircase, with a doll sitting at the bottom, followed by other children's toys on all the steps. The house had been ransacked, with items strewn all over the house in varying states of disrepair.
It is not known how long the house had been abandoned, and who had lived there. But their love of toys was evident, with Cabbage Patch Kids and Disney figurines littering the house. Dave shared the video to his 83,500 YouTube followers and gathered 2,700 views bringing comments on the creepy find from his followers.
One viewer said: “Creepy! The doll on the left in the opening sequence looks like Baby Shivers. On the right appear to be cabbage patches. All vintage 1980s from the looks of it. Great location for a horror movie!”
Kath added: “What a weird place...all those toys but not much of adult trinkets and stuff like that. Those 2 babies outside on the left look so real. Thanks for trekking that deep into the bush to let us see this crazy toy house!”
James said: “At 4:06 and 4:15 that broken window directly across from you resembles an animal's ‘face’ with eyes and ears. That's creepy. Most of those toys and books aren't more than 20-25 years old, some are even newer than that. Some of the dolls are a different matter entirely. The black spray painted sun with sunglasses on is almost identical to the one from a Raisin Bran commercial several years ago. Wow.”
Many people reckoned the house would be an ideal place to film a horror movie because of the abandoned kids' toys storybooks and dolls.
“A good spot for a horror movie,” added Mary. Claire said: “Sketchy house here Dave. So many dolls. Couple looked like Barbie dolls. Spotted a couple of Cabbage patch dolls too. I have 3 of them. Think what you walked up was probably the driveway. What a mess."
