There is no doubt that the Princess of Wales receives a lot of scrutiny, and enjoys a great deal of popularity, but this is something that her husband Prince William has never been threatened by, a royal expert has claimed.

The expert believes that this is something that William deserves "credit" for, because he has never been "jealous" of the attention his wife receives, and this isn't something that can be said for every couple in the Royal Family. Where Kate and William have managed their relationship without jealousy coming into it, the expert claims that this presents a stark difference to William's parents - Charles and Diana - whose relationship was often plagued by envy.

The expert - Jennie Bond - previously worked as a royal correspondent for the BBC, and she explained to OK Magazine the stark contrast between the two couples, and how differently William has managed to approach his wife's star power - seemingly learning from his father's mistakes.

"William deserves a great deal of credit because he has never appeared jealous of the attention that his wife gets. He has gently introduced her into what life would be like and has let her shine and constantly demonstrates that he's hugely proud of her," said Bond.

She also added that when Kate is spearheading a project - like her work on early years development or mental health awareness - William is more than happy to let his wife take "centre stage".

"William allows her centre stage without quibble. They are an incredibly strong couple, which gives her a great deal of confidence," said the expert, adding that: "William has always been careful to guide, support and encourage Kate in all that she has done. He has never shown any sign of being jealous of all the attention his wife gets. He is immensely proud of her. But Charles found Di-mania hard to handle."

In Diana's controversial interview with Martin Bashir in 1995, she explained that she believed her husband and struggled with jealousy of her popularity and that the intense media attention she received brought challenges to her marriage.

She cited a tour to Australia, during which the crowds that gathered were more keen to see and speak to her than Charles, and said, "Now, if you're a man like my husband, a proud man, you mind about that if you hear it every day for four weeks. And you feel low about it, instead of feeling happy and sharing it".

Diana added that she didn't seek out that level of attention, and that "with the media attention came a lot of jealousy; a great deal of complicated situations arose because of that."
