As you age, it can be tough to accept that what once worked make-up-wise on your face doesn't anymore.

You may have once caked on a face of matte foundation and dark lips, but your make-up routine may have evolved since then. Of course, we're all entitled to put whatever we like on our faces, but sometimes we should accept things change. One 64-year-old make-up artist has shared a tip which can change your make-up game if you're older, or have hooded eyes, and just making one little adaptation can make a world of difference to the way you look.

Brenda Burnett, who posts make-up tips on her TikTok, shared "one trick to make a big difference to your eyeshadow". She encouraged people to "take a straight edge brush, and go right along the edge", lifting concealer upwards and across the eyeshadow so that other people's eyes would be cast upwards, so the eyes look less hooded.

She then blended it in with a thicker brush to ensure the concealer was even, saying that it made a "big difference", especially if the make-up is done on mature skin. The concealer she used was also a little lighter than her actual skin tone, bringing attention towards the actual eyes, and not the skin surrounding them.

In the comments, people praised the tip, with one woman writing: "I'm 50 and there are no makeup artists (around me) that have any clue how to do makeup on ageing skin." Brenda reassured her, by penning: "I may not live close, but I can help you here."

Someone else said that Brenda was "very talented", and someone else suggested "using tape to get that effect" so the line is cleaner. Others said that her "make-up is beautiful", and another wrote: "Thank you so much for that top tip. Great to see make-up for us older Glam-ma's."
