Ian Garry has been told he can learn from Conor McGregor after being criticised in recent months by UFC fans.

Unbeaten prospect Garry, who fights Geoff Neal at UFC 298 this Saturday, has been relentlessly trolled ever since a satirical book published by his wife Layla resurfaced online. The book, titled 'How to be a WAG', jokingly instructed women on how to attract a famous sportsmen.

Garry responded to comments made by former UFC champion Sean Strickland about his wife by saying: “My wife was called a peadophile, the people that follow Strickland commented on a couple photos of my son saying ‘Is the kid even his?’ I should never have to hear that, those two things emotionally get me."

Former UFC title challenger Darren Till has advised Garry to block out his haters as he said: "When Conor was coming up he didn’t give a f*** what anyone was saying he just said what he said and eventually people had to like him because he could talk the talk and walk it. Ian seems to hellbent on what’s getting said.

"Always moaning it seems. Just f*** what anyone says and get in there and win and people will soon forget. People are always gonna say s***, especially in this era we’re in. It’s the social media era. Even if you were giving food to the homeless someone somewhere would always have something to say.

"I can’t say I dislike Ian because he’s always been sound when I’ve met him and he is undoubtedly a good fighter. Very good striking, but my god he’s getting on my nerves with all the moaning. Just smash Geoff up Saturday mate and I guarantee you everyone will forget and start s****ng you off again. It’s the way it works… it’s a fickle ok game!"

Till thinks that if Garry beats Neal his next fight should be in the gym with Strickland to settle their feud. "I think if Ian is that p***ed off with Sean he should just turn up at Xtreme Couture and have it out with him. Xtreme is one of this gyms that welcomes that kind of s***. Sean loves it and Ian ain’t scared of a fight," he added.

"That fight in the octagon doesn’t seem like it’s coming around for a while while Ian is at welterweight chasing gold and Sean literally just lost a razor sharp decision for the belt… That’s how you tell everyone to stop f****ng with you, rock up to another man’s gym win or lose and stamp authority."
