Meghan Markle has been warned not to waste her "second chance" as she announced a return to podcasting after being axed from Spotify.

The Duchess of Sussex said she is "proud" to be joining podcast network Lemonada. The new partnership will see the company distribute the first season of Meghan's podcast Archetypes on all audio platforms.

Meghan will also produce a new podcast series, which is currently untitled. The brand new partnership comes after she and Prince Harry were dropped from Spotify after signing a lucrative $25million (£19million) deal with the streaming platform. PR expert Ryan McCormick has said people will be eager to see what Meghan delivers with her new podcast.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he said: "In the wake of the Spotify disaster, I think everyone will be watching how many shows Meghan will actually produce and to what consistency. The former Duchess would serve herself well by interviewing celebrities and other people of importance.

"This association would not only draw listeners but, keep Meghan relevant. From a PR perspective, I think she needs to make each program interesting and of the highest quality. If people are investing their time listening they should either be informed or entertained.

"If Markle fails to do both, her show will not succeed." Ryan also suggested the former Suits star needs to make sure she develops a "deep connection" with her listeners.

He told us: "I would advise Meghan to use his second chance at podcasting to develop a deep, intimate connection with her admirers (even interview a few of them). If she lets her guard down and comes off as authentic, the program could really take off."

Meghan released a statement on her brand new website to announce the Lemonada partnership. "I'm proud to now be able to share that I am joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting.

"Being able to support a female founded company with a roster of thought provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to kick off 2024. Our plan to re-release Archetypes so that more people can now have access to it, as well as launching a dynamic new podcast are well in the works. I'm so eager to be able to share it soon, and am overjoyed to be joining the Lemonada family," she said.
