Gladiators fans want producers to pack in the 'cringe' dressing room heart-to-hearts after a number complained this weekend.
The legendary Saturday night show has been a smash hit for the BBC but viewers want one change to be made which has been added since the the re-boot. The warriors are often seen in discussion after going into combat. In the latest episode, fan favourite blonde bombshells Sabre and Diamond were seen swapping notes in the locker room after the contenders gave them the slip during an event.
In the scene, the women can be seen walking into the changing rooms after the round against the contenders, which didn't go to plan. Suddenly, Sabre hurls loses her rag and she screamed at her co-star "I had her!" as she furiously hurled her helmet onto the ground after being shown up.
"I was literally on her heels the whole time, but she was stood on my hand. I was literally touching the whole way," she moans as Diamond could be seen nodding in agreement with her. It meant that contender Tuathlaith leapt into the lead against rival contender Betti after getting the better of Sabre.
Although fans are impressed by Gladiators' return, they weren't sure about the locker room scenes using the hidden camera, feeling that they are a bit staged and called on TV bosses to give it the boot. They took to twitter to made their feelings known following Saturday's action-pached show.
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessOne wrote: "Scrap the locker room stuff, it’s cringe #Gladiators" as a second person put: "#Gladiators I don't know how I feel about the "locker room" scenes, I don't think they really work." Another chimed in: "Please can we stop the effect noises in the opening titles. I want hear the theme in all its glory. And cut the locker room c**p. #Gladiators".
But one thing they did enjoy was a contestant savagely taking the mick out of host Bradley Walsh. Betti from Bolton, who faced off against Irish contestant Tuathlaith. However, during the Wall challenge, Betti was grabbed by Diamond and fell off the wall. Tuathlaith managed to make it all the way up the Wall without being taken down by a Gladiator, securing 10 points.
After the task host Bradley had a chat with both Tuathlaith and Betti. Bradley told Betti: "Betti, a slip in the very first seconds of that." She replied: "Yes I slipped, it is what it is. Move forward." Bradley quipped: "Or move upwards." Betti then took the mick out of Bradley's joke as she said: "Move upwards," while winking.
Bradley fumed: "So unnecessary Betti." The contestant replied: "Sorry, it was so disrespectful," as Bradley told her: "Don't worry about it everyone is disrespectful to me. Betti you don't score but at least you get to take the micky out of me."
