The Super Bowl never fails to be a memorable event with its iconic half-time performances and star-studded crowd.
This year will be no different, and even royalty is set to be in attendance. Prince Harry is set to join the likes of Taylor Swift and other US celebrities, sources told the Mirror, after appearing at the NFL Honours to present an award earlier in the week.
The Duke of Sussex, a huge American football fan, was in Las Vegas on Thursday night after a dramatic dash home to London to see his father King Charles, who has been diagnosed with cancer. Sunday night's game will follow Prince Harry's attendance in 2022, where he was joined by Princess Eugenie in his new home of California.
His cousin appeared to be the first royal to visit him across the pond since he and wife Meghan Markle moved there with their children after quitting the Firm in early 2020. Harry and Meghan are known to have an icy relationship with many of the royals after their decision to step down from the Firm in 2020.
They have spoken out against them in their bombshell Oprah interview, in Harry's memoir Spare - and in a controversial Netflix series, which Eugenie actually appeared in.
Oprah Winfrey snubs Harry and Meghan as expert claims 'the tide has turned'And speaking at the time, royal expert and biographer Duncan Larcombe said that by Eugenie publicly supporting Harry at the Super Bowl, she was "breaking ranks" from the rest of the royals. He told OK! : "The royals have stayed quite consistent and firm when it comes to Harry and Meghan, as we've seen.
"Eugenie is breaking ranks from the rest of the royals by being seen so publicly to endorse Harry and Meghan in their new life. It endorses what they said about the royals. No other member of the family would be seen dead anywhere near Harry and Meghan.
"There are those that think that Eugenie is Harry’s only hope of him being brought back in should things not work out in paradise, so at least he is talking to someone in the Royal Family. By seeing Eugenie there, it looks like the only link he still has with his family."
When Eugenie announced she was expecting her second child with husband Jack Brooksbank last year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would have been among the first in the family to hear of the good news, according to an expert.
Editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine Ingrid Seward told the Mirror: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex would have been amongst the first to hear the news of Eugenie’s pregnancy. Meghan and Harry are close with Eugenie – and not only has she stayed with them in California, but they have been on holidays together before Harry’s marriage.
"If the Sussexes come to the coronation in May, there will be an added incentive to see Eugenie as by then it is doubtful if she will want to travel herself."
