This could possibly be the most savage response to a date ever.

The world of dating can be a treacherous place - especially when your date doesn't sugar coat their feelings, as one woman found out in a brutal way.

She was left stunned after coming home from an evening with a seemingly "charming" man - who didn't hold back when he tried to offer her some 'advice' for her wellbeing. She admitted she felt a connection on their date, so was gobsmacked to receive a string of cruel messages afterwards - that included being called "obese" and that she should "start dieting". However, he'd told her she had a second chance because of her personality - but advised she should lose a few pounds before they met up again.

She explained how they'd met on a dating app and said he "ticked all of the boxes" and "seemed lovely". After chatting online, she bit the bullet and asked him to meet up. However, she recalled the ordeal on the "Bad Dates of Melbourne" Facebook page afterwards.

The woman thought the date was going well as she shared how they were "talking for hours" and seemed to have similar values in life. He then invited her back to his for a 'coffee' afterwards, to which she declined as she admitted she wasn't the type to go back with a guy after a first date - and assumed he wasn't offended with it.

"Admittedly, I was tempted but ultimately decided to refrain," she wrote and added: "He claimed to be 100 per cent ok with this and asked me when we could next see each other. I went home thinking it was one of the best dates I had ever been on!" However the next morning it took a turn for the worst and he let rip his true feelings.

As she looked at the string of messages, she was gobsmacked to see he had told her she was "overweight" and she needed to "lose a few pounds" before they met up again. The brutal message said: "Hey. I think you're lovely and I could definitely see you in my future. However, to get there I feel I need to address something. While you have a beautiful face, you are physically way bigger than any girl I would let myself date. I would even go as far as saying obese.

"The only reason you are getting a second chance is because your personality is good enough to make me see past this at first," and then told her she needed to take "immediate action" to "redeem herself" and offered several ways to shed the pounds. He then brutally added: "You will not be seen with me in public again until this is done! My suggestion is PT 5 - 6 times weekly and a strict diet."

He then went on with a further dig, this time on her "old fashioned views on sexuality" and told her it was "disappointing" that she wouldn't let him "enjoy her physically" and said: "I'd expect more from a woman who is single in her late 20s. I sincerely hope you take these suggestions to heart. If not for my sake then the sale of your own wellbeing. This could be the start of the rest of our lives together."

People were stunned to see the cruel message she had received, as one Facebook user wrote: "Literally read this with my mouth wide open. The AUDACITY!" While a second chimed: "This has got to be the WORST date I've ever heard about. The guy has so many red flags, he's basically wrapped in a giant red tarp," and a third penned: "I am so sorry this happened to you, I'm sure you are glad he showed his true colours early but understand how hard it must have been."
