Olympic star Tom Daley was treated to an emotional welcome home by his son, Robbie, after securing his spot in Paris this summer.

The touching moment was captured on Instagram by Daley's husband, Dustin Lance Black, showing six-year-old Robbie with a colourful handmade sign that read "welcome home and congratulations" - featuring love hearts and the Olympic rings - and sharing a warm hug with the diving ace.

In the caption, Dustin wrote: "Welcome home, Papa Tom Daley!! We missed you so so so much this past month, but we are so proud of you earning another two world championship medals and a fresh spot at a brand new Olympic Games."

Fans were quick to share their joy at the family reunion. One fan commented: "I woke up to these videos and I'm squealing so hard....you guys are the sweetest everrrrr. Love your family so much."

Tom and Dustin, who tied the knot in May 2017, are parents to two sons, Robbie, 6, and Phoenix Rose, who is nearly one.

The diver's homecoming comes after Tom, and his partner, Noah Williams, won silver in the World Championships. The win means Britain has secured a place at the Paris Olympics.

However that does not guarantee Tom a spot, despite putting him in line for a fifth games, with selections due to be made at a later date.

Daley took a break from the sport after securing gold in Tokyo four years ago. He returned in late 2023 and before the event confessed that he felt "terrified".

But once in competition mode, he and Williams finished with a final score of 422.37 - enough to take second place.

Daley said: "Once I got into the competition, and being with Noah, I kind of relaxed and was like, 'ah, this is what it feels like'..."

"We knew that we had to try to qualify for a spot for the Olympics, which we succeeded in - but I think we went into it more fighting for the medals rather than thinking about the spots."
