If you've been into a Primark store recently, you may have noticed that prices seem to have been hiked.

There's no denying that there are some ranges that are miles cheaper than high street competitors, but some people have clocked that certain items seem to have risen in price, meaning purchases from the fast-fashion store have to be more considered than they used to be. And some have vowed to go to other stores.

TikToker @locoify was left asking "What happened?" when she went into her local Primark, filming some of the labels that she was shocked at, with some items coming in at £30.

Over the top of the video @locoify penned: "What happened with Primark prices? Don't dare [...] tell me it's better quality, it's certainly NOT the case."

In the comments, someone shared that they thought "Primark just isn't Primarking anymore", meaning the prices are far more expensive than they'd want to pay for the budget brand.

Another fumed: "Went into Primark looking for pyjamas they are the same price as M&S so just for quality obviously I bought M&S pyjamas!!" Some pyjamas from M&S can be purchased for as little as £12.50.

@locoify then claimed that Primark's pyjamas were £40, but many social media users questioned her, with some saying that they'd bought some recently and prices started at just £3.50, so they asked: "What Primark you going to £40 for pyjamas, in my Primark in Glasgow they're definitely not £40."

Someone defended the Primark prices, sharing: "People don't seem to understand that prices go up, inflation! Primark is still good on prices though."

Another said that "SHEIN and TikTok shop are the new Primark", and a Primark worker even said they'd noticed prices increase, saying it was "a shame really."

A Primark spokesperson said: "We work hard to offer the best value on the high street, something we know is more important than ever to our customers right now. From our everyday essentials, through to our Edit range which features more premium fabrics and detailed designs, we are committed to offering great value across everything we sell."
