Amad Diallo appeared to agree with a Sunderland fan who told him Manchester United are 'not worth his time' - before deleting his social media post.
The winger spent last season on loan at Sunderland and impressed as they reached the Championship play-offs. Amad scored 14 goals and provided four assists in 42 games across all competitions, winning both the PFA Fans' Player of the Year award and Sunderland's Young Player of the Year award.
However, the 21-year-old suffered an unfortunate knee injury during pre-season and only returned to action last month, making an appearance off the bench as United lost 2-1 to Nottingham Forest.
And he has not featured since then, with Amad not making the squad for United's FA Cup third round win over Wigan or their Premier League clash with Tottenham. He did make the bench for their fourth round clash with Newport County on Sunday, but was an unused substitute.
Following the game, which United won 4-2, Amad's Twitter account showed that he had liked a post from a fan criticising the Red Devils for not starting him against Newport and urging him to return to Sunderland where he would be "truly appreciated".

The post in question said: "Here, Amad Diallo - if they're not going to start you in the FA Cup away at Newport County, it really really isn't worth you giving them your time. Come home, come somewhere you are truly appreciated."
The post has since been unliked, but it comes after Sunderland boss Michael Beale admitted earlier this month that the club are keen for Amad to return to the Stadium of Light on loan until the end of the season. "We've made it really clear to them that we would be in there but Man United really value him as well," he explained.

"He could have an interesting second half of the season in-house but if he was to go out on loan, I can assure you, they are well aware we would want him to come back here. Putting finances aside – because that's the big thing isn't it – I know he loved his time here, the fans loved him and he was well-loved in the changing room.
"When I came here, it was something that if it could happen, it would happen but I think Man Utd realise they have a very good football player on their hands." Sporting director Kristjaan Speakman also said they had made enquiries about Amad's availability this month.
"The situation is clear," he said. We have a positive relationship with the boy, his people and Manchester United. Can he improve us? Yes. Have we enquired? Yes. Have we kept in contact with him? Yes. My head would be on a stake if not! Even if he became available we might not get him."
