Tammy Slaton has revealed a huge behind-the-scenes secret of filming 1000-lb Sisters, with the reality star spilling all in a social media Q&A session.
The 37-year-old television favourite, who is known for appearing on TLC's hit show 1000-lb Sisters alongside her sister Amy Slaton, 36, took to social media over the weekend for a fun Q&A. Tammy answered various questions from her loyal legion of fans on TikTok, with one of the answers coming as a huge shock for many.
"You should cut your hair, it would look gorgeous," penned one fan in the question box on the video-sharing app. Tammy then responded in a short video clip, where she replied to the message and dropped the bombshell that would have left many fans in shock.

The TLC star has recently shed a whopping amount of weight (Instagram)"A lot of people don't know this, but when you're doing a reality show, you can't cut your hair or colour it," she revealed candidly. The weight loss superstar then noted: "You're not supposed to do any outside changes of your body."

Continuing, she added: "Like, I can't get a tattoo or a nose piercing - I wasn't even supposed to get my ears pierced. For example, Amy's hair? Right now she has teal hair but she did have indigo and the only way she can change her hair color again is if it's between seasons or on camera. Because they might need us to go back and get what they call a pick-up scene and if I change my hair it's not going to match." So I'd have to do the whole scene again and we ain't about that," she concluded.
Fans love watching 1000-lb Sisters to witness Tammy and her sister get healthier and fitter on their weight loss journeys. Tammy recently lost a whopping 269lbs (20 stone). When the show started back in 2020, Tammy weighed 605 pounds. She then gained more weight and ended up weighing 717 pounds. And now, following her body transformation, Tammy weighs 448 pounds (as of August 4, 2023).
