Any talk of Arsenal and the January transfer window has centred around their chances of landing a striker.

The Gunners do not have the prolific figure that some of their rivals possess and that has hampered them in certain games. Despite that they managed to smash five past Crystal Palace last time out with a striker very unlikely to arrive, something Mikel Arteta has admitted.

Alongside that the Spaniard has been weighing up whether to move on squad players who are not getting the desired minutes. Emile Smith Rowe is among those to be linked with a switch away, but currently remains at the Emirates.

Here's the latest new coming out of north London.

Clubs alerted to Wilson situation

Arsenal are one several Premier League clubs keeping tabs on Newcastle striker Callum Wilson, according to Evening Standard. He was linked with a switch to Atletico Madrid and the Magpies accept that they may need to sell some of their assets to remain financially compliant.

Their Saudi owners have come in and spent big on the likes of Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon, but need to recoup some funds to stick within the parameters of the Profitability and Sustainability rules.

Wilson is among the players who could command a decent fee and has shown himself capable of scoring with regularity in the top flight. Man United and Chelsea are among the other clubs considering a move for the forward.

Cedric poised for exit

Cedric has entered the final six months of his contract at the Emirates and football.london understands that he is available to leave before the January transfer window closes.

The Gunners have been willing to let players go for free in order to get them off the wage bill. On this occasion though the north London outfit would prefer to receive a fee for the full-back, who finds himself behind Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu in the pecking order.

It came as a surprise to many when Cedric was named by Arteta in his 25-man squad for the Champions League this season, albeit he has hardly featured for the Gunners. He's made just two appearances in all competitions thus far, one of those as a starter.

Gunners remain in top 10 of money list

Arsenal have been ranked tenth in the Deloitte’s Football Money League - below five of their Premier League rivals. All of the club's top six rivals are above them in the latest table compiled by the football financial experts. The Gunners had a revenue of £463million.

Chelsea and Tottenham both have revenues that were north of £500m. Manchester City achieved the highest revenue of any English outfit, landing more than £700m.

Tim Bridge, the lead partner in Deloitte's Sports Business Group, said: "When we look at the Premier League holistically we're not 100 per cent certain the days of significant domestic growth in media rights is over, but what we can say is, without significant competition coming into that market, then single-figure percentage growth is the likely outcome in that domestic market. Therefore the focus is on what can be done in the international market."
