Nothing beats the feeling of ordering a pizza as a weekend pick-me-up after a long and tiring week.

But when you've had more than enough slices to eat, the likelihood is that you've stored your leftovers in the fridge to devour the next day. However, the unfortunate truth is when you reheat it in the microwave, it can turn into a soggy mess.

While some of us don't mind just eating our leftovers cold to avoid the microwave disaster, if you're desperate to have it warmed up there are some things you can do. According to the experts at Just Spices, there are some foolproof ways to go about enjoying your leftovers at whatever temperature you desire.

Microwaves heat the water in your pizza's crust, causing it to steam and eventually become wet. To prevent this from happening, first, you need to consider where how you store the food.

Experts advise people to avoid leaving their pizza at room temperature, as it could lead to food poisoning. What you should do instead is cover the slices with cling film, place them in new containers, and put them in the fridge overnight. "The cardboard will absorb the moisture from the sauce and toppings, and your pizza will soon be a sodden heap of misery," the expert told The Express.

Before reheating the popular takeout order, here's what you need to do to stop it from going soggy in the microwave. Place the slices on a plate, and then use an additional plate to cover your pizza. Place them in the microwave alongside a glass of water and heat everything for a couple of minutes. The steam from the water ensures that the dough remains crispy and delicious. According to the experts, this trick will result in a "crispy pizza crust in no time at all".

But if you don't want to take your chances with a microwave, you can easily heat a pizza by using a conventional pan. Add the leftover pizza and cover the pan with the tin foil. Do not put any fat like olive oil in the pan as this will cause the dough to become soggy. Then simply wait until the cheese has melted, remove it from the pan and enjoy.
