Manchester United came into the January window in desperate need of some additions, but it has all been quiet so far.
The Red Devils endured a rotten first-half of the campaign under Erik ten Hag. Their problems revolved around their poor goalscoring record, with a number of strikers then consequently being linked with moves to Old Trafford.
While their need for a new forward has lessened due to Rasmus Hojlund finally finding some momentum, that has not stopped a series of names being linked with a move to Manchester. Take a look at some of the standout rumours from Old Trafford over the past 24 hours.
Former Man United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has demanded Al-Nassr to make a move for midfielder Casemiro. The former Real Madrid star has fallen down the pecking order this season.
A move to Saudi Arabia has been on the agenda over recent months and Ronaldo is now keen for a reunion. According to Foot Mercato, the Portuguese has spoken to club hierarchy over a potential move.
Marcel Sabitzer completes Man Utd transfer after last-minute deadline day dashCasemiro would be open to a fresh challenge but a switch appears to be difficult in January. Saudi rules on foreign players mean they would have to make space in their squad first, while the midfielder still has three-and-a-half years left on his contract at Old Trafford.
Anthony Martial’s Man United career could potentially be over with the Frenchman set for surgery. The French striker has been struggling with an ongoing hip issue.
He is currently in dialogue with the Red Devils’ medical team over the best course of action. Should he go under the knife, that could potentially rule him out for the remainder of the season.
With Martial’s contract due to expire at the end of the season, that could mean he has already played his final game for the Red Devils. The former Monaco star last appeared for the club in Man United’s 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford back in December.

While the vast majority of the talk this transfer window has been about strikers, it appears that Ten Hag is also keen to bolster his defence. Bayern Munich centre-back Matthijs de Ligt has emerged as an option for Man United.
A deal appears to be unlikely though, with Thomas Tuchel confirming that the German giants are hoping to keep De Ligt at the Allianz Arena. He said: “We’re planning with Matthijs, top player and top guy.
“Matthijs came back injured from the national team, missed all preseason. We played him too early in the Supercup, then he got seriously injured again.”
