Caramac fans have eagerly spotted a Cadbury version of their much-loved Nestlé Caramac bar that was axed.

Nestlé devastated fans when they discontinued the popular caramel chocolate in November 2023, but now people think they have found the next best thing, and it's available in huge bars. The "twist" on the fan favourite is made by Cadbury, called "Cadbury Caramilk" and it's relatively similar to the Nestlé version or Caramac as one Tesco shopper pointed out.

Available in a hefty 360g size on the shelves of Tesco people have called it a "winner" and are thrilled to find it.

The Caramilk bars were shared on the popular Instagram page Treatsinstore as one fan snapped a photo while in Tesco and excitedly wanted to share. The post read: "EXTRA LARGE Cadbury Caramilk Bars (UK) Whopping 360g Caramilk bars spotted in @tescofood."

It seemed as if people were getting in on the excitement as one person chimed: "I'm in love," and another fan commented: "Extra large & chunky… result!!" While a third said: "Omg, winning."

When Nestlé axed the Caramac bar that had been going for 64 years, they claimed it was due to a drop in sales. In a statement at the time, Nestlé said: "We are very sorry to disappoint fans of Caramac. There has been a steady decline in its sales over the past few years and unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to discontinue it.

"We know fans will be disappointed to see it go, but this change will enable us to focus on our best-performing brands, as well as develop exciting new innovations to delight consumers' tastebuds."

Caramac was originally created by Mackintosh's and then manufactured by Nestlé. Since it launched in 1959 it has been a mainstay in the confectionery world in the UK. The name is a combination of 'Caramel' and 'Mackintosh' and interestingly, it was determined through a competition held by the management team at Mackintosh's for their workers at the factory in Norwich.

Although it's not clear if the Cadbury Caramilk bars are available in every Tesco, it's worth checking your local store beforehand to double-check it's in stock.
