Good Morning Britain viewers were left baffled on Tuesday morning when Daniel Radcliffe's girlfriend was mistaken for someone completely different by entertainment expert Richard Arnold.
On Monday night, Harry Potter star Daniel, 34, attended the Emmys Awards, making his red carpet debut with girlfriend Erin Darke, 39. It's the first time the pair have walked the red carpet together since Erin gave birth to the couple’s first child last year.
While discussing the awards and the stellar red carpet looks, entertainment expert Richard Arnold discussed Daniel and Erin's energy on the red carpet as they posed for pictures, however, he was then left red-faced over an unfortunate TV blunder. While speaking out the couple, a different clip was played from the night, and the clip in question saw Daniel posing with Weird Al.
As the clip played on while Richard spoke about Daniel’s long term girlfriend Erin, he was quickly interrupted by Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid who was left completely baffled. Interrupting Richard, Susanna said: ‘Sorry?!’
Holding back her laughter Susanna then looked at her co-host Ed Balls, before the pair broke out in giggles. Richard then halted his entertainment report saying: "I don’t think that’s - that is definitely not her". To which Susanna quipped: "No judgement, but I don’t think we got that right."
Richard 'shuts up' GMB guest who says Hancock 'deserved' being called 'd***head'"I don’t think that’s the couple’s first public outing, though it could be an outing in every other sense," Richard joked. And it wasn't long before viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to react as one joked: "If I was Daniel's girlfriend, I'd be fuming over that." "Jheez Good Morning Britain had one job!!! There was me thinking Daniel Radcliffe had just come out as gay," another quipped.
Last year, Daniel opened up about his experiences as a first time parent. The British actor became a first time father in April 2022 when his American actress girlfriend Erin gave birth. The couple have been together since 2012 after falling for each other on the set of biographical drama film Kill Your Darlings - about the life of the celebrated poet Allen Ginsberg.
Speaking about fatherhood, Daniel told Entertainment Tonight: “It’s great. It’s crazy and intense, but he’s wonderful and Erin is amazing - it’s a real privilege also to have this time with him.” Explaining that he was getting extra time with his son as he was on paternity leave, Daniel continued: “I was always going to take some time off, which not everyone is able to do, and so I’m able to kind of just be here with him a lot, which is lovely. So, we’re having a great time.”
