Shocking images have shown the moment a child was just inches away from being hit by an enormous wave as strong winds, heavy rain and flooding hit the UK.
The pictures captured a small child walking along the beachfront in Blackpool today (January 11) while holding onto an adult's hand.
As they walked along the edge of the sea wall a huge wave crashed towards them, narrowly missing the pair.
They were then seen walking away from the edge and out of the turbulent sea's path.
The terrifying images came as the UK prepares for even more heavy rain and strong winds after flooding caused havoc in parts of the country.

High winds caused waves to come crashing towards the sea wall in Blackpool (Dave Nelson)On Monday night, commuters in York city centre were forced to wade through water after the River Ouse broke its banks.
Meanwhile, severe flooding in Manchester on Tuesday led to firefighters to rescue two people from a car submerged by water, Manchester Evening News reported.
Delays were also reported on Manchester motorways, with flooding on the M56 near the M60 interchange, and the M60 near junction 5 and junction 24.
Thirty-three flood warnings were issued for areas in the UK, as well as another 108 flood alerts for areas where flooding was possible.
The adult and child were able to walk safely away (Dave Nelson)River and surface water flooding is likely to impact parts of South West England and possibly areas in the North and far South of England, as well as the Midlands.
At the same time, the Met Office issued more Yellow weather warnings for the rain expected to hit the UK this week.
It predicted "persistent heavy rain" to hit parts of Wales and Southwest England from 9pm on Wednesday, lasting through Thursday.
The forecaster warned of possible power cuts to some homes and businesses.
It also said that "fast flowing" and "deep" floodwater is possible, with the potential to cause damage to some buildings.

Meteorologist and presenter Aidan McGivern said: “It’s going to stay blustery, with some strong gusts in the west in particular and these lows will continue to send us outbreaks of rain and showers heading into the weekend.”
He added: "With all that wet weather coming in, there are concerns, particularly for those areas that have already seen so much rain across western England and Wales. The wettest weather is likely to see 60-80mm falling across the Brecon Beacons and Exmoor.”
"Persistent rain" is also predicted for Friday night and into Saturday and the Met Office has said that more weather warnings could be on the way.
