The January transfer window has now been open for just over a week and Manchester United are still yet to make any significant signings.

The Red Devils were expected to invest into their side following a rotten first half of the season. Hope of some star-studded arrivals increased after Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment in the club was finally confirmed.

There have been plenty of rumours ever since - with a striker remaining on United’s winter shopping list. Serhou Guirassy and Eric-Maxim Choupo Moting have both been linked with switches.

Here's a look at some of the standout talk coming out of Old Trafford over the past 24 hours...

United prepare Olise swap

United are apparently prepared to offer Aaron Wan-Bissaka back to Crystal Palace in an effort to sign Michael Olise. The right-back has been touted for a move back to Selhurst Park recently despite the Red Devils activating an option in his contract to extend his current deal.

He could now be used as a makeweight in a deal for French winger Olise. According to the Daily Star, Olise has emerged as a major target for the Red Devils.

He was previously targeted by Chelsea in the summer and the Blues activated the release clause in his deal. However, Olise turned down a move in favour of signing a new contract with Crystal Palace.

Ex-Chelsea star Christensen eyed

United are among the sides interested in a deal for Barcelona’s Andreas Christensen should the Catalan giants choose to move him on. According to Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona are considering giving a chance to youngster Chadi Riad, which could see one of their current defenders moved on.

One of the candidates for an exit is Christensen and the Red Devils are among the clubs who could make a move, though they could face competition from one of their Premier League rivals

It is reported that Newcastle are interested in a deal for Christensen. The Danish defender previously represented Chelsea before a move to the Camp Nou.

Benzema deal urged

Amid their search for a new striker, Louis Saha has urged the Red Devils to make a move for former Real Madrid star Karim Benzema. Speaking with Spanish newspaper AS, he said: "Benzema would change United's attack, and that's exactly what they need now.

“He would definitely score goals and also ensure better team play. For now it is just a dream, but Karim is still very professional."
