Ronnie Wood is painting himself into the black, having earned £500,000 from his artwork in the past year.

Accounts for the Rolling Stone show he raked in £1,953,778 last year, compared to £1,437,277 in 2022. The amount of cash the guitar legend has in the bank has also soared to more than £2.5million.

Ronnie, 76, whose hits with the Stones include Paint It, Black, went to Ealing Art College in London before he found fame with the band. But he has never stopped drawing, painting and sculpting and has won critical acclaim as an artist.

Ronnie’s portraits of the Stones have been displayed in galleries across the globe and he has also painted Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, Elvis, John Lennon and Madonna.

In 2022, he painted a portrait of the Duke of Edinburgh from a photograph – and later asked Prince William to present it to the late Queen.

Last year, the Stones pocketed £94million from their Sixty anniversary tour, which saw them play the UK and Europe in 2022. They sold a reported 712,000 tickets in 14 cities.

This year promises to be just as lucrative for the band, following the release of new album, Hackney Diamonds. A new US tour is due to kick off in April.
