Kamar de los Reyes has died at 56.

The actor - who has appeared in Call of Duty and ABC soap opera One Life To Live - died in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve. It's thought he suffered a brief battle with cancer. A family spokesperson confirmed news of the star's death to The Hollywood Reporter. Additional details surrounding his death or cancer battle are currently unavailable.

Kamar was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but grew up in Las Vegas. He was put on the map by his role in Blade to the Heat as boxer Pedro 'Roadman' Quinn. He received immense praise from critics which helped him land bigger and better roles later in his career.

The New York Times' David Richards wrote: "The most arresting figure, however, is Mr. de los Reyes. More than any words he utters, the actor's haunted eyes, sunken cheeks and shaved head convey the extent of Pedro's torment. In repose, he's almost spectral. In the ring, he's like a short circuit, and his silent scream of triumph is a guaranteed spine-tingler."

Thereafter, he began picking up roles with ease and even made the 1997 People Magazine Fabulous 50 list. His career took off on television, film, and even in music videos.

Despite his long list of accolades and awards, he is best known for his soap opera role in One Life To Live where he played Antonio. The character was a gang member turned lawyer turned cop. After serving unjust time for a crime he did in self defense, he became motivated to challenge the system. He stepped away from the show briefly before returning to play his character out until the finale in 2013.

In a very different role, Kamar voice acted for the Call of Duty video game. In 2012, he said in an interview with Shacknews: "I walked away from this experience knowing that I had just finished work on one of the most amazing projects I’ve ever been a part of."

Kamar was also known for his roles in Nixon and Love & Suicide. He recently played Jobe in the 2017 version of Sleepy Hollow and a detective on The Rookie. After One Life To Live, he played a villainous role in the CBS show Blue Bloods.

He is survived by his wife Sherri Saum, their twin children, and his son Caylen.
