Ian Garry’s wife Layla has been the talk of the town in recent weeks after an old book she wrote resurfaced online.
Layla is a 40-year-old TV presenter who is married to unbeaten UFC welterweight Ian Machado Garry. The couple tied the knot before Garry’s fight against Darian Weeks last April and they welcomed their first son later that year. Garry and Layla have been trolled by fans in recent weeks after a satirical book from Layla, who is 14 years older than Ian, resurfaced in which she jokingly instructed women on how to notch up famous sportsmen.
Garry was scheduled to make his UFC return this Saturday against former teammate Vicente Luque but was forced to withdraw due to pneumonia. The Irishman has even admitted his concerns over travelling to America for the ill-fated fight as he feared for the safety of his family following the recent online events about them.

Layla was born in London but is half-Brazilian on her mother’s side. The TV host first appeared on screens at the age of six when she featured in an advert for Fairy Liquid, with arguably her biggest gig coming in 2012 when she narrated the Olympic Games opening ceremony in London to an audience of one billion viewers. Layla is mostly known for her work in football having presented content for the likes of FIFA and UEFA. She moved into MMA when she started presenting Cage Warriors alongside UFC legend Dan Hardy.
Logan Paul and KSI announce new partnership with UFC president Dana WhiteIn the lead up to the 2010 World Cup, Layla wrote a book called called 'How to be a WAG’. Details of her private life have since been explored by fans, including her past marriage to Richard Cullen. The most recent employment information on Cullen’s LinkedIn shows he was working as Garry's nutritionist, but it's unclear if that is still the case.
Layla fired back at fans criticising her ‘WAG’ book by saying: "We were creating this hilarious satire look at wives and girlfriends in football, that's what WAG stands for. It's got nothing to do with age and I wasn't 40 then was I? If you want to call me an author for that, sweet. I think it was more of a light-hearted podcast, but I was well ahead of my time.
"That satirical look is really silly. anyone that takes it as fact has completely missed the mark, low and behold sarcasm isn't well taken especially with American audience. British humour and sarcasm is often lost, at the time it was a huge success and people got the joke. it went out, it was funny and it did great." Layla also refuted claims that her ex-husband Richard Cullen lives with her and Garry by saying: "No he doesn't and no he never has. You are just making that up, inventing it completely."
