Colby Covington went on a bizarre rant about NBA star LeBron James by telling him to "leave America".
UFC star Covington targeted James after appearing in front of media to promote his upcoming world title fight against Leon Edwards on Saturday in Las Vegas. Covington looks to become the undisputed welterweight champion in his third crack at the belt having previously come up short twice against Kamaru Usman.
The brash American was in his usual charismatic mood as he walked out to his seat wearing a custom-made suit jacket with Donald Trump's mugshot on it. Covington answered questions about his fight against Edwards and after leaving the stage, he returned just moments later to issue his rant.

"I'm gonna say one last thing, I'm gonna say one last thing to you guys. F*** LeBron James. If you hate America so much and you don't like the country that gave you a billion dollars, leave it or come and deal with me. Or go to China and go to the sweatshops where you employ all these labourers and use these women and pennies on the dollar to make your millions. F*** you. You're a spineless coward and b***h," Covington said.
Logan Paul and KSI announce new partnership with UFC president Dana WhiteIt's not the first time Covington has spoken out about James in a negative way, as he name-dropped him after beating Tyron Woodley in September 2020. "I want to dedicate this fight to all of the first responders, all of the military out there. This world would not be safe without you guys, thank you for keeping us safe. Not these woke athletes, I'm sick of these woke athletes and spineless cowards like LeBron James," Covington said after the fight.
Fans then claimed James could hold his own against Covington in a fight, something the UFC star scoffed at by responding: "Lol at the snowflakes that believe LeBron James could even last 10 seconds with me! If that coward had the balls or the ability to kick anyone's a**, Delonte West would've lost his teeth long before his meth habit!"
James and Covington differ in their political stances as the NBA star has previously spoken out about his dislike for Donald Trump whilst Covington is a big fan of the former US President. Trump is expected to be in attendance for Covington's fight on Saturday and will put the world title around his waist if he wins.
