Online daters without a GSOH who still WLTM that special someone are turning to AI in their quest to find love.

Some 14% of singletons confess to using bot sites like Chat GPT to come up with chat-up lines. But 63% said AI-generated one-liners did not work and only 3% rated them a success – so some 30% are returning to more traditional methods. Many felt embarrassed after trying duff AI lines.

Bizarre bot-written flops included “Are you a wi-fi signal? Because I’m feeling a connection”, “Is your name Google? Because you’ve got everything I’m searching for” and the creepy “Can I follow you home? My parents told me to follow my dreams”.

Other duds were “If you were a Transformer you would be Optimus Fine”, “Can I take a picture of you so I can show Santa exactly what I want for Christmas?” and “Is your name Jingle Bell? You’ve got me ringing all the way”.

Meanwhile, classic human lines like “Aside from being sexy, what do you do for a living?” and “Is your dad a baker? Because you’re a cutie pie” were a hit with 28% of 3,000 polled by betting site bestcasinosites.net.

Spokesman Aiden Howe said: “Our study shows while AI may write one-liners that are sort of funny, they don’t quite cut it. The key to delivering a great chat-up line is self-confidence, no matter how cheesy it may sound. Our poll found AI lines were too contrived and had even the most confident people feeling a little awkward.”
