People could be set for an extra payment from the DWP, and a five-letter code will show whether one is on the way.

An additional payment is set to be sent out to those who qualify this Christmas, with members of the public told to keep an eye on their bank account for the five letter code. Said code will confirm the account is set to receive an extra £10 as part of an additional payment scheme to those who claim at least one of 21 benefits this month. If your account is eligible, the code "DWP XB" will appear in your bank. The cash should be in your account by January 1, but if it is not there and you think you are eligible, contact the Jobcentre Plus office.

Claimants of one of the following benefits should receive the payment. If not, contact the office which deals with your payments or the Pension Service at the DWP.
